His Life

Leonardo Di Ser Piero Da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 in Vinci, Italy. The name “Da Vinci” means “in Vinci.” He kept the name Da Vinci because he was born in Vinci. So his name really means “Leonardo In Vinci.”  his uncle taught him about art when he was very little. He started drawing pictures of the animals in the small town. He moved to Forence very early in his life. He lived most of his life there when he finally decided to move to Milan. He lived there for the rest of his life. He died on May 2, 1519 at the age of 67. In his life he did many things. He was an engineer, math teacher, and artist. There are no written records of him being a sculpting artist. He did in fact want to be, which is true out of his journal.
