His Work
Leonardo's first panting was actually a piece of a painter named Verrocchio. When he was 14, he was apprenticed by Verrocchio. He painted a portion of Verrocchio’s painting “Baptist of Christ”. He painted the face of the angel on the left that is holding Jesus’ robe. Then his painting career took off. He started painting his own paintings. Verrocchi was very impressed, and said that he didnt need to be apprenticed. after he was apprenticed, he moved to Florence, Italy where he started painting even more. It was there, in fact, that he made his most famous painting ever, the Mona Lisa. He stayed in Florence most of his life, when he decided to move to Milan. The Duke said that if he wanted to live in Milan, he had to build giant battle machines to protect the city. He worked on this for a very long time. he ended up making the catapult, helicopter, and tank to protect the city. He was also ordered to make a painting in the kings dining hall. He made the last supper.
